a waste of a sentence

Mumbai is ecstatic and India is happy according to what the breaking news media is making us believe.
Kasab has been awarded the death sentence. So big deal!! He had anyway come here to die, and all we did was extend it to 17 months and waste lots of tax payer’s money on keeping a dead man alive. What did we achieve out of it—Zero!
Everyone and their uncle know where the real perpetrators of the crimes committed against our country are and we won’t be doing anything to get to them other than use words like- dastardly act and strong commitments.
This is not at all a victory for this country; in fact it just shows how inefficient we are in catching the big fish, and are pleased with catching a little fish who was just lucky that he didn’t get fried on 26/11.

Take a spoon of religion mix it with politics, sprinkle in a well known actor for spice and you get a super hit film!

IPL-Irate pakistani loosers

Why is such a big issue that none of the franchise's selected any of the Pakistani players? Why did the government even encourage them to come for the auction and now they have washed their hands over it as usual.
I don’t know why we try to please everyone and their cooks all the time. Our government makes strongly worded statements that we will have no ties with Pakistan and will not give up till they surrender their eminent citizens like Dawood , the master mind of 26/11 etc to us. And in the meantime we invite their cricket players to be auctioned off to the highest bidder!
Now it’s become a diplomatic issue with Pakistan shouting from every available roof top about this injustice. One thing I admire about that country is they have the balls to do all this even when the entire world treats them with suspicion.
I hope our govt won’t bend down and insist that these players be taken in at exorbitant amounts just to diffuse the issue. I won’t be surprised if they do since we are nothing but a NATO nation- No Action Talk Only!!

2010

Welcome to a new year with a couple of zeroes in them. Hope this won’t signify the state of our nation in dealing with everything else other than our economic growth.
Last year we had a complete jugalbandi of events culminating with the government waking up after 16 years to book a medal flaunting top cop. This case will go one for couple of new years giving the electronic media something to cheer about, followed closely by our celebrity status gaining prisoner from across the border with his every move and insane claims being reported with undisguised reverence.
One good that has come out with these new hounds of mediaville is that every small crime which earlier would have gone unnoticed / unreported is being bought into our sitting rooms in a brand new avatar.
This should be giving sleepless nights & days to our law enforcers who now have to at least look alert and intelligent when TV cameras are shoved into their faces followed by rapid fired questions. Hopefully this will also help in giving us a safe city & country to live in.

Here is wishing everyone who still visits this blog a fantastic new year and may all that you wish for come true.

26/11

Get ready to for the blitzkrieg of "sponsored" programs on the 1st anniversary of 26/11. Mind numbing images with the corporate logos and jingles to remind us about what happened and glycerinated eyes of news readers harping about how excellent their coverage was which not only bought the terror to our drawing rooms but also helped the handlers in Pakistan to inform the terrorists where and who to kill better.

Africa ahoy!

What does one say to a person who packs her school bag and says she is going to afrikaa to see animals and stands near the door for you to open!
The joys of having a highly imaginative talkative 2 year old is boundless!

movies reviews

Billu- Nice entertainment, Irfan rocks. SRK is the usual ham in this sandwich.

Delhi 6 -all about a director who thinks after RDB the masses will accept anything he aims his camera at.
Other than the music there is nothing going on for this movie and the story drags itself till it flops in a corner, curls up an dies.

Wish we had a movement like this for the Bangalore cops to wake up and do some honest policing.
Right now their duty is to stand in front of the pubs by 10 pm as they are convinced that all terrorists, burglars, rapists and murderers frequent these places by 11.30pm, so they need to be there early ,harass everyone and make some quick money from the pub owners and close down the place.
